I have recently discovered that Quickbooks for mac has some serious flaws, and their tech support is not very, um, supportive. Is anyone using anything else on Mac for small business/personal accounting, and if so, what's your opinion?
Also - has anyone used GnuCash on any platform and have an opinion?

C'mon, I know you folks are an opinionated lot - let's hear it!

Am curious what flaws you're encountering, and whether you've decided for sure to ditch it? I might be able to help.

The bug that sent me to their tech support is described in brief here:http://goddessfarmer.livejournal.com/183323.html

The thing James hates about it, and this is true in all the versions is that there is no way to close out a year, so the data file just keeps getting bigger and bigger.

I am frustrated by having to repeat the problem 5(!) times to intuit's tech support before anyone would help. AND THEN... there is the problem of their web interface that is supposed to take care of this without a lot of phone calls not working at all for the mac on any browser. so I"m just really pissed off. for the price of quickbooks, this is unacceptable.

James is thinking that with gnucash at least he can see the source and fix minor crap like this.
