Yesterday, Alice and I went to look at a horse (for Alice) which was in a must-sell situation. The ad met the specification for a horse for Alice. When we got there, she was standing quietly on the cross-ties, mostly tacked. We watched the current rider start warming her up. They did not have any jumps in the arena, and as we were asking if we could bring something in, the owner showed Alice photos of the previous owner jumping the mare. It was only then that we realized that we had looked at this horse when I was looking for Skippy. This horse being called "Dulche", having been called "Darling" by previous owner and registered Tb as "Stacie's First" looked nothing like what we saw in September of 2007. With a few choice words to previous owner on the side, the mare is about 300 lbs heavier (she had been a bone rack) and is wearing larger shoes by at least one shoe size, if not two.  We are working on a lease with option to buy agreement and expect to bring her home by the end of the weekend.  Her new name is Second Chance.

This sure sounds like a win-win for you both and for the horse! Wonderful when that happens!

hugs!

Why is it a "must sell" condition? I'm glad you found a good horse for Alice, without too much trouble even!

current owner is going to college in the fall, and has new medical problems which prevent her from riding.

I am so happy this is working out! Alice was so hyped about the mare, and I was afraid of what might happen if she turned out to be a dud.

I'll be happy to meet her when I am back. Assume she likes carrots???
