The silver crescent moon smiles at me
In the early morning dark
Before the dawn, the time
Before
The sun awakes, and
All the world is still
Before last nights coals
Are rattled awake
To warm the breakfast plate
In time to hear the solitary rooster
Crow the coming dawn
