Deer tick. inner right boob. wasn't there when I went to bed, needed tweezers to get it unstuck at 6am. I don't need this ever, let alone a week before the T3D. I will try very hard not to panic, but if I seem edgy, y'all know why.

Having just gone through this with my daughter, I can tell you that the internets say that that is not nearly enough time for transmission of disease. Scary to deal with, but not dangerous.

The Internet says that and so does the CDC, but I've had Lyme from this same overnight exposure, so whatever the establishment might like to say they are wrong.

my doctor told me last time i had a random tick (1)

"well, THEY say this and that, me? i can give you a 'script, if i were you, i'd take it for 2-3 day, ya know? peace out".

(1) are you SURE it's a deer tick? i don't know anyone that can tell that with or without a microscope. if you can see them, it's either "too late" or "it's something else". deer ticks start out VERY small.

that said, they've ID'd yet another tick flu that you can get. hate the things.

Well, I did need a magnifying glass to ascertain that it was a tick and not just some random piece of cruft or a scab, but yes, it had legs. The horses get another thing from ticks, Erlichia, with is very similar to acute lyme in that they get a fever and feel really cranky, but Rx for that is only 10 days of Doxycycline and they do get better.

So far, I have not developed a rash or other symptoms, thankfully.
