advice sought re: Palm device
I purchased a Palm Z22 on March 31 of this year (it's 7 months old) and today, with no warning, it shut off and will not turn on. The palm web site says this model has a 90 day warranty. I do have all of the info backed up onto my computer as of last night. But but but.... my portable brain!!!
Should I a) buy another; b) wait until my phone comes up for replacement in March and buy a combo unit; c)run in circles scream and shout?
And - if a above - should I just buy another of the same model, or upgrade to one with a 1 yr warranty?

try a full reset (there's a button on the back), then try stuff including charging again (overnite)
smack it around some? a bit of gentle pounding onto your hand.
how much do they cost? perhaps a refurb? take a chance as well and call palm. they might do you a favor.

1. Put it on the charger and see if it comes back.
2. If that doesn't work, use the reset button on the back (It's just below and to the right of "Made in China.") I can barely see it on mine. As I recall, there are two levels of reset- first power on and push the button once. This does a "soft reset" that keeps the memory contents intact. If that doesn't work, try holding the button down to get a "hard reset. Note that the hard reset will clear the contents of your PDA, so you'll have to restore from the backup on your computer.

In my experience it's a pretty rare event when the Z22 needs to be reset like this. I don't recall ever resetting my Z22, but I used to have to reset my Palm III once or twice a month.
