In between yesterday and
tomorrow there is now
In the dark but not deserted
recesses of the night
my soul has all but left me
and my head begins to bite
this instant the uncertainty
wonders what I've done
It wonders how I got here
It wonders why you care
over rivers flowing
through fractures in the night
bent and smashed and beaten
washed on some rocky shore
ever yet between yesterday and
tomorrow I still stand
as surely as the blackness
fills the instant before light
And no one asked the mountain
what the tunnel is to feel
