Pedro is a good dog.  He ate a normal amount of food today, in a normal number of meals (2).  I'm mixing about 1/2 of his regular kibble with one can of wet food.  He's gotten a little more used to doing doggie #1 on the leash, and given the food intake I don't expect to see solid waste until tomorrow anyway.  I took off the narcotic patch this afternoon, and he doesn't seem to be too concerned about pain as of now.  He is much more alert, and pulling on the leash when he gets his brief outs.  Right now he is out of the crate for as long as he is content to lie at my feet, which will probably be until I get up from my chair.  Yesterday afternoon/last night he developed some adema in his leg below the injury, and was prescribed massage to move the fluid around.  He loves his massages, and the swelling is much decreased now.  Tomorrow we go from cold compresses to hot and add some PT to the leg, which involves me flexing the joint slowly.   It's progress.
