Tarot reading by CP 7/31/08
Using the Thoth deck
The pattern laid out was an inner winding spiral consisting of 13 cards. The first 12 being steps along the road to the 13th being the actual answer to the question posed. This pattern is remarkable in that as I was holding the deck and meditating on my question, I saw something like a roulette wheel. At the same time, CP was meditating on the form the spread should take, and saw this spiral. We were clearly both connected to some circular pattern.
The first card out was the trump XI:lust. This is the equivalent of the "strength" card in many decks. What was noted in the reading, was discernment: the separation of things that are "me" from those "not me" and the ability to discard those which are "not me."
The second card up was the Prince of Cups, representing an immature male who has his own work to do on an emotional level, someone who effects me, but is not me. That person has to do his own growing, I can not do it for him.
Next up was 8 Swords and it's message today is "don't lay blame."
7 of Cups next saying "don't make any long term permanent decisions right now; they would be based on emotion and faulty reasoning."
The Knight of wands, representing an adult male, is off to take care of his own business and inspires, or forces me to do the same. I can not lean on this person, but he supports gently that I stand on my own two feet.
Death - The master of letting go that which does not serve. A lesson for lifelong learning.
Wheel of Fortune - with a message of creativity upcoming into the picture, or a talent which has lain dormant resurfacing.
8 Cups - Must fill my own cup.
Ace of Swords - New Truth. Integrate the previous into the new pattern.
Knight of Cups - here is the Prince of Cups returned as the mature male, having transformed himself, he is now ready to re-enter the scene in a different role.
6 Wands - Victory!
hermit - Planting seeds for the future.
And now the answer to my question - Prince of Swords - Reconstruction of truth.
Now for the clue: My question was "what should I be focusing my energy on right now?"
