A BIG FIRST
Aug. 17th, 2008 08:19 pmI've been competing in USEA sanctioned events for 30 years (except they weren't the USEA then, it was USCTA). I've won lots of ribbons, but never a blue one in a sanctioned event before. WHEEE!!!!!! Not only did Skip and I win first in our division, we had the best score of the day at the event, finishing on our dressage score of 27.9 penalty points. Our cross country round was clean and fast enough, but a bit sloppy in terms of my riding. I rode my stadium jumping course like I used to when I was a teenager, which is to say I am very pleased. Our dressage test was good, or good enough, but there is room for improvement. I in no way thought it was going to be a winning dressage score. Not that I am displeased, mind.
Alice and Trump finished 4th in their division, which is Alice first ribbon in a sanctioned event. She and trump had the best dressage test I've seen them do, and then Alice rode stadium and cross country aggressively enough to get the job done. This is no mean feat on Trump. I am very proud of them.
