farming notes

1. the cow, which was barely as tall as my hip, managed to get shit on the trailer wall at my head-height. It's really astounding how much of a mess one cow can make in a little more than an hour.

2. A hawk (not sure what kind, grey/brown in color, fairly small) just took a swipe at my hens, with me standing not ten feet away.  Hens ran for cover, smart things, and no one got picked up.
