Browsers that I use maintain their own SSL certificate validation code, so unless MacOS provides some service, that can't be the common point of failure. Which leaves DNS as a potential issue: servers, connection security or default domains could be different between the two systems. This is all supposed to be encrypted, but I might be able to get some sigint from just watching the size and timing of the packets.
