Yesterday I had a lesson with my DQ. (If you don't know what a DQ is in the horse world, I can't explain it to you.) My right shoulder is still a little forward, and my right leg a little too back, but it's getting better.  Trump was good, when I rode him right.  Afterwards, I went to check out a horse for sale at the barn of another trainer.  Nice looking horse. Big. I'm going to make an appointment to actually try him for late next week. If I still like him, I'll take some pictures.  He's pricy, but 6 yrs old with excellent sport-horse breeding. Not the breeding matters much to me in a gelding. On first check, he's got big enough feet and legs to support the rest of him, very people friendly, and calm on the ground. Next to see how he moves and what he feels like and if he's calm and sane enough that [profile] chocorua can walk him around safely, both mounted and for ground handling.  If he passes all that (which would seriously surprise me) then we can talk to the vet.

Today, Alice rode Trump and worked on her position while jumping. They did some excellent work today. I rode Minnie. She was an angel. So much so that I pointed her at a couple of 2' jumps.  She wanted to rush at them, but let me keep her slow.  That was excellent. Then we went on a short walk around the hayfields.  I held Minnie back while Alice galloped Trump around the big field. She stood still for most of it, and while she was clearly upset, she wasn't bad. Such a good girl.
