I opened my most recent Discover card bill to find a string of $10 charges through paypal/ebay... hrmm... I didn't do that. The nice people at Discover said that I don't have to pay it, they have canceled my card and I should get a new one in 7-10 days. Also they will send me paperwork to sign so they can pursue the fraud. Bad that this happened, Good that Discover is being reasonable. So, um, yea, check your statements.

We've had extemely good service from Discover before - similar to this one. One of the reasons we're using discover when we can.

1) if you can get paypal/ebay to tell you *what* was being bought, you may be able to determine who was stealing from you.

2) you may want to run a good anti-spyware / anti-virus software on any computer you have used to buy anything with your discover card (on the theory that they had to steal the card data from somewhere, and if it happened via your computer once, it could happen again).

good luck!

I think that Discover is going to do all that. *THEY* want to find out who and nail them. Furthermore, I haven't used my Discover card in the past three months except with 2 vendors who have my card # saved so I have not transmitted it through this machine ever.

How thoroughly annoying. But you are correct in that it does speak well of Discover...
