Miscellany
Oct. 25th, 2006 12:48 pmAfter being careful and wrapping my hand while helping
marmota move yesterday, it seems a lot better today, as in, no pain while stoking the wood stove, and the swelling is still reduced.
Got the steers to the butcher with only a little traffic resistance this morning, but then had the tailpipe on my truck come disconnected from the muffler on the way home. No parts were actually shed on I-495 thankfully, but it will be going into the shop tomorrow for repair. One of these days it'll be time for a new truck, but not yet. I really like this one.
The horse is still lame without Bute (a NASID), so my vet said to pull the shoes and give him a week or more off, tapering off the Bute after 3-4 days, and leaving him barefoot for 2-4 weeks. I'm also waiting for the Lime Disease antibody titre to come back, and if he's high again I'll hit him with more Doxycycline and Teasel root tincture. The ticks have been really bad this fall, so that would not surprise me one bit. In any case, Alice and I are clearly not riding in the clinic we were planning to this weekend, thus solving my needing to be two places at once on Sunday, when pigs are scheduled to go to the butcher.
All in all, I can't complain. This is **so** much better than, say, July.
