Apr. 19th, 2008 07:07 amMy love is steady as a rock
but the wind and the rain can wear that rock down
My love is as strong as the roots of the great oak tree
and those roots will still be there long after
the many seasons of the tree have flown by
My love can be higher than an eagle on the wing
but even that eagle need to rest sometime
when the world is dark and the winds are still
Brother Sun and sister Moon will watch my love
But father Time will take it down the broken road
everything dies in the end
everything dies in the end
But the earth will make a new mountain of rock
birthed in a shower of sparks
And the oak tree will leave a small acorn
to grow when the old roots are rotted and gone
and as the seasons circle around
the eagle takes flight once again
the will of the wind and the heat of the sun
renews the life of the lover within
As unfailingly as the sun rolls around in the morning
out of dark nights fraught with despair
the end is just a beginning
when you need love the most it is there
but the wind and the rain can wear that rock down
My love is as strong as the roots of the great oak tree
and those roots will still be there long after
the many seasons of the tree have flown by
My love can be higher than an eagle on the wing
