later, there will be a post about the end of camp, now there will be SQUEE about today.

Today I competed with Skip at the Huntington Farm Horst Trails in the Training division. We placed 4th, finishing on our Dressage score. This is my first completed event at this level since 1983.

Thursday morning were our last camp rides. We got to pick what we wanted to do. I took another flat lesson to continue reinforcing the new program. Sue was being very patient with helping guide me to the correct place in my body to get the correct result. This is very hard work.  Our last lunch was over more riding videos and the photos that were taken. At some future point the photos of me will show up, but probably not soon.
After lunch, most folk headed for home. I headed out on a meandering path which included groceries for dinner and the next day and a stop by the now open library for more 'net. I got news from home and a chance to relax. After a last stop at the farm to give Skip his supper, i got mine. Then there was a trek out to find cell service and talk to home. I got to bed relatively early.

Friday was a day off for Skip, but not really for me.  Early in the morning, I walked the cross country course with Denny and another of his students. Then I got to turn out Skip, and take good time to clean his stall and clean my tack and prep everything for Saturday's event.  After lunch I got communication from James with his arrival schedule in White River Junction. I had just enough time to get my competitor packet and walk the course again (this time in the rain at the end of a thunderstorm) and then shower before heading into 'town'. When I got into cell service, I found out that James' bus was running late and that he had no raincoat. I fixed the raincoat problem, and then found the bus station, which was not well marked. We had a yummy dinner at the Seven Barrels Brewery pub, checked on Skippy and then went to bed.

This morning started early, which check out from the lodging, then going to the farm to collect Skip. I needed all of the two hours I gave myself to load the trailer, get the stall really clean and braid Skip's mane. We left for Huntington right on time, in a light rain. all the details )
We got packed up and were headed home just at 3pm, and got up to KH just after 5:30pm. I was a little dissapointed in the barn crew to not have had Skips stall put back together after airing under the mats while he was away. I fixed that, but left him turned out a happily munching grass. Home is a welcome sight.
