just to have a laugh at "home" I am in Arizona. It is warm and sunny here. I talked to
chocorua this morning, but in order to do so, I had to call
eventing_ponies cell phone. They have no grid, no net and no landline phone. Our electric co, Unitil, reports 40,000 customers out in NH seacoast. Thankfully, home has power from sun and wind. And people continue to ask me if our system will ever pay for itself. Bah. Consider food not spoiled because of no electricity, consider still having water (toilets, showers), consider heat and no broken pipes due to freezing. Having electricity is something most people don't think about until they don't have it, and then they PANIC. But we don't. If our system goes down, we fix it. We don't have to wait for some large company to 'get to us'. Being independent does have it's advantages, both in ways that can be measured in money and ways that defy measurement to any metric. Yes, it requires education and responsibility. How responsible are you for your own peace of mind?
