What MRW said. There's about 14,000 sq. feet of total floor area, but they discount the basement and the area under the eaves, so the taxable square footage is something like 9,000. Pool table, two working fireplaces, 2 half- and one whole bathroom aside from those associated with the bedrooms. And it's on a hilltop with miles of (taxable) view and 115 acres of my property around it, with about 3 sq. miles of woods and fields off to the N and NW.
The house also has an indoor pool and a hot tub, but neither works right now. While we don't mind if tenants want to fix/use them, we are tired of being the "pool guys" and so we aren't advertising them.
some people i know had a cozy private house... and an icestorm devastated all these trees in place, snapping them in half, but not necessarily taking them completely down, and left a mess. now they have a "modest view", for which they received a nice thank you tax ;) they're fighting it, the least of which is, the view sucks with all those dead trees and timber, so, remove the timber or remove the tax, or both... sheesh :)
