happy, but with an undertow

In a roundabout sort of way, I found out last night that my mother's doctors fear that her cancer has returned and spread.  So while many things are going much better for me recently, and I am quite happy at the moment, I would not be surprised if I snapped at some seemingly smallish thing. So just to warn y'all that if i grump at you, it's probably not you that's the problem.
