Reading a little closer, they're saying a) Monsanto's studies attempting to prove GMO corn is safe are pretty pathetic, and b) there are potential issues which really need further, better and truly independent study.
... but how do you know that the study didn't feed the rats 800 times the amount of genetically engineered corn than they would normally eat, and no other foods for their entire lives? I never totally believe "studies" when the people performing the study have a desire to prove the product bad from the start.
Yes, it's a data point, but only one of many. Would you believe data points about Obama's health plan if the only data points you heard were from a study sponsored by the Republican National Committee? Especially if that data point was also confirmed by Fox TV News?
The paper referenced wasn't about new research, instead the group did a rigorous analysis of Monsanto's published research and data they released under court order.
