family outing day!

eventing_ponies  drove a lot today.... she's almost at the 40 hours she needs before NH will let her take the test. We went to see The Sorcerer's Apprentice. I know it got bad reviews, but it turns out to be a pretty good geek movie. It does have some major Star Wars references that non-fen won't find quite as funny as we did.  I liked it enough to be interested in seeing it again. From there, our chauffeur drove to downtown Portsmouth where we had a very yummy sushi dinner at Sakura Bana, A place chocorua  and I have been going to for over 18 years now.  Then we took a leisurely drive down the coast to Jenness Beach in Rye. Sadly, the bathrooms were locked, so we didn't have any place to change into our swimsuits, but the water was nice to wade in, and chocorua  and I had a couple good sprints across the sand. Yay for Jenness Beach! What's with the locked bathrooms? They haven't ever been open the times I've been there this season.

We got there around 7pm, and figured that they get locked when the lifeguard leaves at 5. But I can't say for sure. A search of the NH tourist sites does indicate that the beach "has a bath house" but not what it's hours are, if any. The state website on Jenness hasn't been updated since 2008.

I was mistaken. My boyfriend says the bathroom was actually open the last time we were there...I just hadn't needed to go so I didn't notice.
