I've seen them (rarely, but it happens) standing next to highway 93 near the Fells. In those flashes, the first thought I get is "there's a loose german shepard mix dog" then my brain finally tells me it's no dog.
We hear them fairly frequently but I have only seen one near our house once. I think they've pushed out the foxes, who were more visible and actually pretty nifty.
But of course, out at Cutter they still come up in the evenings and sit in the grass and watch us ride our horses! Feronia knows they are there, and doesn't forget it. It's amazing that CJ, the now basically full-grown kitten, hasn't been eaten yet... Marina gets him in at night, but he can make it very difficult!
