We got off exactly at 9am, and made it to the show ground without incident. The first horse inspection, an in the barn check, was uneventful for the most part. I voiced my concerns about Skippy soundness to the vet and he gave me some instructions on how to get through the jogs. It's nice to know that I've learned some things over the years, as nothing he said to do wasn't already on my to do list. I got to take skip on a long mounted walk to see the track for phases a and c. He felt good. I walked the cross country course, which is long, and typically of this venue has a bunch of very maximum jumps, but nothing overly technical and certainly nothing I'm afraid of. I expect that doing it after phases a through c will be harder. I expect to have a tired horse at the end. There was en evening briefing about how things will go tomorrow, which was really good. I'm psyched. But tired. Time for bed!

Glad you're having a good time and hope tomorrow goes great! Does phase A go straight up the mountain for you guys? I suspect they'll be using a similar phase D for us on the weekend...would be curious to hear what it's like, if you should have the time/inclination!
