So, I can't log into my bank from my new Mac (but can from old) on my comcast internet service. We knew this already. So I tried something this morning: I've got my verizon 3G Ipad tethered to my Mac via USB. Bank works. LJ works. So I'm not a very technical nuts and bolts network geek, but I'm betting that this is some really obscure strange thing that causes only 2 of the websites that I want to access not do passworded things properly.

Probably not helpful, but if I post this I'll stop thinking it -- could it be a US vs. foreign encryption issue? If, for some reason, your new mac is configured not to use high powewered encryption that's prohibited outside the US, you might see something like this. (I'm pretty sure that understanding what I'm talking about would make me angry, so I don't, but you probably know people who do understand it. Maybe they don't mind being angry.)

Also have you tried changing your password? Dunno.

Try disabling IPv6?

Perhaps the bank's v6 service is misconfigured. You'd only see this when you were on both a machine and a network that supported v6. The most likely confusion is the bank's certificate, which is tied to an IP address. If it's tied to the v4 address then encryption wouldn't work at all.
