I had to describe my PTSD to someone recently. Here is a short peice that fell out of my brain after that exercise.

the words in my head chase their tails
around and around between my ears
unable to come out my mouth
unspoken so unheard
fear raw and primal
locks my jaw keeps them in
circling like vultures
over the carrion that was me.
