It's been a while since I've done anything with my horse other than feed him and look at him. The weather being beautiful today drove me out of the house, sore toe and all. First there is shedding. Lots and lots of hair all over the place, now all over me. Second, the snow is very deep in the woods here, and heavy. We did a 20 minute loop in the woods and then went on the road. Normally, Trump is very good on the road. Today he was, uh, tricky. He was looking for things to shy at, hoping I'd give up and turn him around. When I did finally turn back, he wanted to go very fast, which I did not let him do. So he chose UP instead. We finally settled on a compromise: sideways. So we've done a little shoulder-in and a little half-pass, at the walk, on the road. The really good thing is that my toe must not be too bad, because it was not entering my brainspace when I had to concentrate on the bad pony. Clearly I need to ride more.
