Riding Log
Jul. 10th, 2007 04:38 pmToday was our last jump school before the show on Friday. Trump was good. My knee didn't hurt at all, but I did wear a brace on it. My eye is finally remembering what to do so I don't have to rely entirely on Trump to get to the take-off point correctly. This is very important on Trump, because he doesn't have very good depth perception, and he will stop if he's not sure what he's looking at. If I get him to the right place, he's more confident about actually jumping and the whole thing is easier. I'm still a little worried about our collective fitness and I'm going to have to remember when I'm out there that there is no shame in pulling up *before* we hurt ourselves if we are too tired. I never have pulled up, but I've never questioned my fitness or my mounts fitness before either. The only time I fell on course was because of not looking up over a complicated drop jump (a lesson to all you riders out there) and I got right back on and finished with no time penalties. I was 14. The ground is much harder now.
